Terre et Lac Launches Crowdfunding Campaign for Solar Plant in Voreppe, Lyon
Terre et Lac, a Lyon-based company specializing in ground-mounted photovoltaic power plants, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for the installation of a shade plant in the parking lot of Lely Environnement in Voreppe. The company aims to raise 175,000 euros through this initiative, which is open to residents of Isère and neighboring departments.
The shade plant, consisting of 3,640 photovoltaic panels covering an area of 7,248 m2, will produce 1,547 kWp of renewable energy. This will result in a total production of 1,802 MWh, equivalent to the average electricity consumption of 360 homes. Additionally, the plant is expected to save 155 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
Terre et Lac has been actively involved in the development of solar energy projects, with a target of reaching 1 gWp in operation or under construction by 2030. The company recently raised 18 million euros through a crowdfunding campaign in September, enabling the realization of twelve solar energy projects.
Despite the challenges associated with obtaining planning authorizations for renewable energy projects, Terre et Lac remains committed to its decentralized economic model. This approach has garnered support from local communities and investors like Mirova, a management company of the BPCE group, which sees the company’s projects as coherent and innovative in terms of technology and financial structuring.
The crowdfunding campaign for the shade plant in Voreppe represents another step towards achieving Terre et Lac’s goal of promoting sustainable energy solutions and contributing to the French energy transition. With the support of local residents and investors, the company is poised to make a significant impact in the renewable energy sector.
