Eha Impact Ventures Receives $1.9 Million Grant to Support Women Entrepreneurs in Africa
The $1.9 million grant received by eha Impact Ventures (EIV) from eHealth Africa (eHA) is set to make a significant impact on women entrepreneurs in Africa. This grant not only marks a major milestone for EIV but also addresses the $42 billion funding gap for women entrepreneurs in the continent.
EIV, a gender-lens impact investing enterprise, aims to provide catalytic capital for its portfolio and potential investments, supporting women entrepreneurs to access better funding opportunities and prioritizing their financial needs. The CEO of EIV, Evelyn Castle, expressed her excitement about the donation, highlighting the potential and untapped talent of women entrepreneurs across Africa.
With the support of this grant, EIV plans to create a supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem through increased funding, mentorships, and training programs. This initiative is expected to help women entrepreneurs grow their businesses, create jobs, and enhance healthcare systems in Africa.
Atef Fawaz, the CEO of eHealth Africa, emphasized the vital role women play in strengthening healthcare systems, aligning with the organization’s vision. My Le, a female board executive at eHealth Africa, noted the importance of the donation in bridging fiscal gaps for women and other vulnerable groups, ultimately leading to healthier lives.
EIV stands out as a philanthropic impact investing enterprise that supports early-stage, high-impact, women-led businesses in Africa. By offering flexible and innovative funding options paired with high-quality, local, shared business resources, EIV aims to ensure the growth and success of these businesses in the region.
