Before publishing the investigation, Hunterbrook Capital, the hedge fund arm, shorted U.W.M. stock and went long on Rocket Mortgage. Despite the controversy, Hunterbrook’s investigation into U.W.M. received praise for its in-depth look at the company’s practices.
